Who’s a happy bunny?

Despite losing my Simplycats blog, having updated my WordPress without deactivating my plug-ins. Only myself to blame for the mess. All’s well that ends well, and I managed to get it all back and running smoothly again. I then updated this blog and It went like a dream. That was enough to make me happy, but something else made me even happier. Look what I got for Christmas!

I’ve been snapping away every minute I get, testing all the various settings out. I wanted some outside, daylight shots so Mo and I went out yesterday, armed with my camera. We almost froze to death! We hadn’t gone prepared for the freezing cold wind, so the trip was a short one. How could I keep the camera still while I was shivering?
Today I decided to use my lightweight tripod and try some indoor shots. It’s an aluminum telescopic one. As I extended all the legs I got my finger caught in it somewhere. I screamed out! I didn’t know where it was caught but the tripod was firmly closed with the fleshy part of my finger trapped inside! It wasn’t trapped for long because it cut the flesh right through, freeing my finger. Oh man! It hurt!
Still, a bunny that is happy is what I am!
I would like to wish everyone a really great 2009, full of joy and peace!
Stumble it!

Babs:
Ouch! It sounds like you brought the new year in with a painful accident. But, on the good side, you got a brand new camera. Isn’t it fun to have new things and to be the first to ever use them? Cameras are always a fantastic gift.
Let’s make 2009 the best year ever. Lots of good posts and fabulous pictures!
Thank you for being a good blogger friend all through 2008.
Happy trails.

You know Beetle, my interest in photography has really been sparked since I started blogging. Before, all I ever did was take some golf shots with disposables.
I have also taken an interest in creating pictures with the ones I take. Adobe Photoshop is on my wish list!!!!!
Be careful with that mean tripod
Happy New Year from the frozen tundra’s of Minnesota

Jodi: Thank you, and I wish the same for you
Gemmak: I am thrilled with it! I have to re-learn all that I’ve forgotten now! My finger is almost mended
Swubird: Oh I love new things and I’m really enjoying the camera! Swubird, I think you and Liudmila were my first readers, back when I didn’t realise I was supposed to respond to comments! I waited for your comment on every post and it was a real encouragement to me. Thank you.
Speedy: I know what you mean. The last time I took photography seriously was more than twenty five years ago, then along came blogging! Photoshop can be fun! I’ve done quite a lot with it, and I’ve used if for twenty plus years, yet I still don’t use all of it’s features
Sorry your comment got lost. I think first comments, since I upgraded, have to be moderated again – weird!

I’m glad to hear that you got your other WP blog to work again. I was specifically hunting down your site after reading that the last two upgrades to the Google sitemap plugin were causing some WP 2.7 users blogs to have no posts. i thought that might be part of your problem.
Nice camera! What model is it? I’ve had a Canon EOS 30d SLR for a year and a half and I LUV it. The anti-motion lens really helps too. I hope your lens has that feature.
Sorry to hear about your finger. I hate it when I get my finger pinched or even a paper cut! LOL Happy New Year!

Tricia: I have the Canon EOS 1000D DSLR. It has Image Stabilizer. Is that the same thing? I need to start looking at extra lenses now – at least a wide angle lens. I just posted a few of my first shots on my photo blog :O)
Happy New year to you also!

LOL – Before I started reading I was wondering is she a bunny or a jack ass? HAHA
Glad you’re a bunny.
I look forward to all the great photos! Now you can join all those memes I’ve got my sister in … she’s thrilled about that!
Oh and I have something for you on my blog today.

Drowsey: A jack ass?! How rude! Hahaha! I’ve put my first shots up already
Daisy: I need some advice. How do you stay so still and happy for your mum when she takes photos of you? Sukie gets all moody and looks down at the floor!

Congrats on the new camera, Babs. I have an EOS 20D that I’ve been using for almost four years now. I love it. For a wide-angle lens, I would highly suggest a Canon 50mm, f/1.8. It is a great overall lens, and it is fairly cheap to boot. And that makes it a good, everyday lens, because if it gets messed up it’s not so expensive to replace.
And I’m sorry to hear about you pinching your finger. I could almost feel the pain just reading about it. And finally, congratulations on getting the blog conversions done. I think you’ll find that future updates will be much easier now with 2.7.

I’m hoping things will run smoother in WordPress now.

Awesome new camera! I got a new one too, but I could NEVER use one likes yours… I just want to point and shoot, so I asked for (and got!) a new Sony Cybershot 10.1, replacing my four year old 4.3 MP.
Oh and your injury sound exactly what I would do… ouchie!
Here’s hoping your new year has more beautiful shots and less bloody injuries!
Congrats and Happy New Year Babs!!!

Oh wow does your new camera look snazzy and lots of fun to play with!
)))
hehe Between cutting myself on glass all the time when I used to do leadlight, and dropping my fingers in hot oil, and well just being downright clumsy.. it’s hard to say ouch for your fingers.. but I will pretend because it’s always nice when people acknowledge ouchies
I do hope it isn’t hurty anymore though
