Car conversation # 4
Boxing day Mo and I went for a trip out, so I could try my new lens. On the way home we were chatting as usual.
Mo: “There’s a film on TV this afternoon you’ll like.”
Babs: “Oh, what?”
Mo: *“The Gromits film.”
Babs: “Oh they (the animators) are so clever, just like the ……”
Mo: “The Pigeon film.”
Babs: “Nooo! The Pengeon film. Ooh ha hah! I mean the PENGIUN film”
Mo: “Happy Feet!”
silence….
Babs: “Don’t they put gromits down kids ears?”
*Wallace & Gromit film.

Stumble it!

It’s like a game of Pass it Down the Alley with you guys! Incidentally, I love the Wallace and Gromit series. I first discovered them when I had a bad cold and was up for hours in the middle of the night. Our public broadcasting station was running a marathon of all of their shorts. Been a huge fan ever since! (They proved the moon was made of cheese, you know.)

I’ve not seen the shoe, but we don’t have television so that’s a good reason why. Kathy explained quite nicely. I must say that you two do have some fun road trips.
Have a terrific day.

Nick Parks is brilliant. Wallace and Gromit are great!
OH has a Gromit on his desk, but he’d be a bit big to stuff down some poor child’s ear. LOL!

Oh My God! My son LOVED Wallace & Gromit when he was little. Of course now that he’s 13 he is just way too ‘cool’ but I still think they are great!

Kathy: I guess that Pass it Down the Alley is like our Chinese Whispers? You whisper something to one person who then whispers to the next, and that person whispers to the next until you end up with a completely different sentence. Didn’t you know the moon was made from cheese?
Maureen: Oh yes, give me penguins over pigeons any day
Sandee: Yes we are often laughing over our silliness
Daisy: I always fancy cheeeeese
Jay: Ha ha! You mad lady!
Meleah: Once he’s older still it will be OK to like them again

It seems like there should be a “pengeon.” A cross between a penguin and a pigeon, right? I think SOMEone needs to doodle this!

Jaffer: Ha ha! A clay tail may do a bit more than tickle
JD: SOMEone might feel inclined to doodle a pengeon, if SOMEone still had her graphics programme! SOMEone may never doodle again!

When I think about the work involved making one of those stop-animation films I wonder how anyone has the patience. But I’m glad they do, because they are so alive. Love Wallace and Gromit.
