Lots of bits
First bit
Thank you all for your kind words and well wishes. I am feeling much better now. I still have an annoying cough but even that is improving at last. It was a very persistent virus! Everybody I know that’s had it, in one form or another, has had it for about a month.
Second bit
The snow has finally gone. Only a few tell-tale patches left on less walked on parts. I didn’t manage to get out for photos at all, which was disappointing but… I have the spring to look forward to.
Third bit
I am not getting any inspiration for blog posts lately. This is partly due to the time of year, commonly known as ‘January blues’, and partly because my computer died. It has all the software I love to use on it, and none of it is compatible with my more up-to-date laptop. At the moment it’s a bit like fumbling around on someone else’s laptop. All my familiar stuff gone! All my files gone! Not conducive to creative blogging.
Fourth bit
Finishing on a much brighter note. I am getting a new iMac! I saw no way of getting one right on top of Christmas, but a surprising doorway opened that has made it possible. I am thrilled! I hope to partition the drive, load the slightly older system software on the partition and install my favourite graphics programme, along with a few others. I will just need a re-start when I want to use it.
Last bit
I think things are looking up at last.
Stumble it!

I’m so glad you are finally feeling better. I’m also glad that the snow is gone and you both can get out of the house now and then. The cabin fever days are gone.
Great news on the iMac too. That’s always a great event. It also might be the inspiration you need. Just saying.
Have a terrific day and week ahead.

Im psyched you are feeling better and that the snow is going away. I am THRILLED you will be getting a new iMac. [And, I am just a we-bit jealous!]
Ive also been having a case of the January Blues! And, its been TOUGH to blog. I keep trying to pump out new posts, but I feel like my words are falling as flat as I feel these days. It seems as if many bloggers are going through this right now. I just hope it passes for all of us SOON!

Babs:
You’ll love your new iMac. I got one and I am only sorry I didn’t make the switch a long time ago. And then on top of that, my wonderful daughter bought me a brand new MacBook for my birthday. So I’ve got the best of both worlds.
Good luck on all that you do.
Happy trails.

Good to hear things are starting to look up for you, Babs! I know how miserable the flu is. I have had it two years running, each time lasted more than a month – longer if you count how long the cough took to go away, but luckily (and fingers firmly crossed on this one) not so far this year! I hope I continue to escape it!
I’m seriously thinking of changing to a Mac mini for my main computer. I’ve practically abandoned my Windows machine, doing everything on my Mac laptop except for accessing old files, so why continue to keep it?
I’m sorry you lost all your stuff though. That is NEVER fun.

Sandee: Thank you. We are not sad to see the back of the snow this time. It’s been a real problem to many.
Jenn: Oh I will LOVE my new iMac and I’m sure I’ll bore you all with a post on it too
Meleah: Your turn will come, you’ll have a posh new imac. I’d lay bets on it
Maureen: If you set your sights on one, you’ll have one. You will NOT be sorry
They have said we will have more but not as much as this time. 4 months is a long time to live with snow!
Sniffle & the Florida Furkids: You’re right about them being fun. I can’t wait!
Swubird: Oh how lucky you are to have both. I also have both now. I love my laptop for blogging in bed, or in the garden in the summer
Jay: Oh Jay, it has been a long haul, and still not completely gone. Every night it’s a sore throat and a Lemsip again.
When I pick my new iMac up they will remove the drive from my old iMac, for me to put into an external caddie. My drive was not damaged so all my files are safe for me. I AM a happy bunny!

Michelle: I don’t usually suffer the January blues. I think the flu got me down a bit. It’s my birthday in a few days so hopefully I will cheer up properly by then
