Shower anybody?
I thought I’d post something a little different today.
This was my younger sisters beautiful cat. He was a big fluffy Persian Red and his name was Jasper, after Jasper carrot the comedian. Handsome wasn’t he?
From the beginning my sister trained him. She bullied the poor little thing into submission… Joking! He was quite a character as you can see.
Just look at the photo of him all dressed up in his shirt and tie. He’s even holding the pen! How cute is that?
The funniest thing was his regular showers. Have you ever seen such a thing? He is sitting in about two inches of water too!
“Play that water on my tum mum”
“Just clean my nose off a bit. I don’t want any boogaloos left behind”
“Nearly finished mum?”
Now this is the life! Snug as a bug in a rug”
Sadly, my sister can’t bring herself to replace his memory by getting another cat.
Don’t you think he was one gorgeous hunk of cat?

Wow he sure was beautiful and a personality to match !
Shirt, tie and pen ?
What kind of bribes got him to co-operate ?
I don’t think another cat can completely replace him. I am sorry to sound so cold but I have never seen another cat will these qualities together !
Good Bye dear Jasper ! I know You are missed !

I can so relate the not getting another cat. When our dog goes we are done. It’s going to break our hearts. I so understand.
Have a terrific day.

I can understand not wanting to replace such a beautiful guy. It took several years for us to get another cat after we lost our first guys. It’s awful that our kitties don’t live as long as we do.

I don’t know which pictures are funnier. The accounting look or the shower. What a beautiful boy Jasper was! I only bathed a cat once in my life. Once was enough. I’ve never known a cat who liked it as much as Jasper appears to. RIP, funny mancat!

He sure was handsome, and it looks like he was quite a character, too. I feel a little bit sad that your sister doesn’t feel like she could get another cat. Any cat would be lucky to have a Forever home with her.

He was a gorgeous cat! And I have NEVER known any cat to sit there and get a bath, let alone a shower without scratching the living daylights out of you!! LOL
He is so content to just sit there and have water on his face….he was priceless!!
I can see why she wouldn’t want to replace him…but she shouldn’t look at it like a “replacement”, she should look at it as an addition to……
Take care,
Kat

I secretly love cats, and Persians are at the top of my list. I’m highly allergic, but as a teen I dated a guy who’s mother had two Persians that she bathed all the time. It was the only time in my life I was ever able to get close to one. They loved taking a bath!
I can understand your sister not being able to bring herself to replace him. What do you do when a pet breaks the mold and exceeds all your expectations of a beloved member of the family?

So adorable. I thought about dressing Sadie like that when she was really tiny but never did.
She is a squirming and persistant kitty to say the least. And both my little girls are enchanted with water for some odd reason. This cat of your sister’s was really something. She should give another one a great home too!

Sandee: It is so heartbreaking when we lose pets.
Clara: When we get pets we just no we will saying good-bye to them too.
Denise: A cat and two rabbits! Oh that must have been so cute to watch!
Kathy: We have only bathed Sukie when she was really tiny, and that was a sight to see!
Daisy: It is very different here in the UK. Pedigree cats have to be ordered from a special breeder and can cost several hundred pounds! Non pedigree kittens are not very easy to find when you want one either. We had a hard time finding Sukie!
Kat: Yes, We have never known such a cat either! Our cats go mad if they get wet! It is a shame she doesn’t feel she could have another one. They are such good company too!
Tina: Yes, he was a lovely cat
Ivanhoe: Neither have I. Ours cats won’t go near water!
Angela: I wonder if it’s a ‘Persian cat’ thing. I also am allergic to many cats (including one of ours) I have to avoid long haired cats and ‘Red’ cats. I have decided that red cats must have something different in their fur. Our red Burmese causes problems to other people with allergies too!
SeanDonland: He certainly was a beauty!

I had an orange tabby persian as a teenager and was one of my favorite cats, had such character and I loved petting that cat at night for hours.
When you lose a pet, you tend to not want another one, but if you do choose to get another one, you will find they will find a place in your heart. Your heart can hold places for many pets in a lifetime.

Jenn: Yes he looks so funny all wet. Hope your friend enjoys it.
Carol: I couldn’t believe it when I went on your blog. Same name too :O)
Lux: Oh yes he was loved, for 14 years!
Dragon Blogger: You are so right. I’ve had many cats, all different, and all lovely in their own individual way.

without a shadow of a doubt this is one of the loveliest cats I’ve ever seen. you are so correct about him being so adorable in that chair.
Oh the glasses are simply just over the top. He looks like a professor.
And to take a bath that easily is incredible. We have to completely sedate Puma to even get him near water.
Oh dear yes I can most definitely understand how this very handsome and smart little guy would be very hard to replace, maybe even impossible!!
So sorry to hear about your PC problems and very glad to see you back. Not t say that I was tired of looking at your smile or anything but your just such a wonderful part of my day!!
Can you imagine living with me….German and Cherokee? Oh my it’s a good thing Walter is a patient man!!

He was a handsome fellow. We have lost 8 of our feline “kids” over the past seven years, and each one was heartbreaking. But my wife is a firm believer in making room for new rescues when that happens. But I will say that none of our cats would sit still for a shower. In fact, it would probably lead loss of blood or body parts.

A girl I went to school with once told me that she would never have a pet, because they just die. What a horrible outlook! I say, we are blessed with the addition of our furry family members; they bring so much into our lives. Yes, we may outlive them, but the time we have together is priceless. I would also never see getting another pet as a “replacement”. That Jasper looks like one of a kind for sure!

I have to say, I have never, ever seen a cat enjoying a shower so complacently! He looks like a very special little guy – no wonder she was heartbroken to lose him.
We can’t go straight out and get another dog, either. But one day we will. I don’t look on it as replacing them, rather honouring their memory by choosing to love another.

Spicybugz: I also am allergic to some cats, but not all. I will never get another ‘red’ cat as it seems to be those that effect me
Maureen: I would never be without my cats. Even with my allergy, I will still have cats. They do bring such love and fun into a home
Jay: I agree. It isn’t really replacing a pet. I expect you to surprise us all one day with news of another lovely greyhound
