Celebrations and Jubilations!

posted by Babs on Wednesday, 24 June 2009

Today we had good news.  We saw Mo’s specialist, who confirmed that the form of Asbestosis Mo has will cause her no future problems.  It is the ‘END’ result of exposure of over 40 years ago, and will not progress!  The other problem, for which she had the ultrasound, proved to be as suspected,  just cysts.  One he couldn’t be sure of (where she’s had a kidney removed) because it couldn’t be seen very clearly.  He said it is very likely nothing but he would like a kidney specialist to just take a look, for a thorough closure to her case!  He has discharged her!

We decided it would be nice to celebrate with a little treat, so Mo popped into the shop and bought some strawberries and cream to have after dinner tonight.

Mo went into the kitchen while I sent an email, about the results, to waiting family.  Suddenly I heard “Oh nooooo!” coming from the kitchen.  It looks like we won’t be having strawberries and cream tonight!

THIS IS SO TYPICAL OF MO!!

I’m so happy for you guys! And tell Mo not to feel bad about the cream mishap. I do that quite often as our sour cream (yum) container looks just like the cottage cheese (bleh) one.

Oh, now that is HUGE!! Wonderful, wonderful! I’d been worried myself when you’d mentioned it was asbestosis, so I’m glad they’ve looked further into the type it is– phew!!

Hm… strawberries and cottage cheese. Might catch on. (Might not, also. :) )

Congrats again on the superb news!!

Ohhh, finally. So much time… And so great delusion: remain without cream… This is sad. I don’t understand what were your thoughts about when you were in the shop…

Great news indeed. I’m thinking strawberries and cottage cheese won’t be all that good. Just saying.

You and Mo ave a terrific day. :)

That’s great news! What a huge relief. I bet you felt like celebrating — and not with cottage cheese! Now get back out there and get some cream . . . and chocolate!!!

Ivanhoe: I have to admit to emptying the pot in about two minutes! I quite like cottage cheese :)

Jenn: I guessed you were concerned. Even though we were told the same in the beginning, it was good to hear it confirmed, in more detail today.

Liudmila: It seemed like forever to us! We got the cream in the end :)

Jaffer: Mo said thank you for the hug ;)

Sandee: I enjoyed the cottage cheese – straight out of the tub and saved the strawberries to have with some cream ;)

Meleah: Oh we are relieved, I can tell you!

JD: I sent Mo straight back out to buy the cream, while I tucked into the cottage cheese, for a snack!

Babs, I’m so happy for this news. I know it was a long wait for the results and I’m sure the stress of it all really did a number on you. I’m with JD, you need to dip those strawberries in CHOCOLATE. It’s really the only way. And tell Mo that she and I are two peas in a pod. I would totally pick the wrong container. It’s what I do.

Kathy: Oh, I forgot all about your lovely chocolate dipped strawberries! We have some left so I might give it a go. And Mo picks the wrong packets up all the time. I’m always having to re-adjust my taste buds!

Oh, Babsie! I’m so happy to hear the news! Go and hug Mo for me!!

Funny about the cottage cheese! That’s my favourite brand, by the way. Never mind .. have ice cream instead!

That’s funny! It sounds like something I’ll do. Monday, I wanted to make a second strawberry shortcake, because the one for father’s day went soooo fast. I got home preparing to make the cake, what I thought was whipped cream in the freezer, was actually, cherries, I stored in a whipped cream container. Today is Thursday, I’m going to finally make the cake!

    Babs:

So good to hear that your troubles are coming to an end. Everything worked out okay and life goes on. It’s always troubling to wait for the results of the doctor’s test results. It can drive a normal person crazy.

    Te strawberries look delicious.

    Happy trails.

So pleased to hear your good news, such a relief I’m sure. :)

Strawberries and cottage cheese.. hmm may not be so bad! lol

  16. JeffNo Gravatar | 26 June 2009 at 3:19

Yay! I was waiting for this news. Time to celebrate indeed.

And I often eat cottage cheese with fruits… peaches, bananas and especially strawberries, so I would be thrilled if that’s what I bought. Yum!

  17. LaurenNo Gravatar | 26 June 2009 at 12:44

OH I’ve done that. Totally sucks. Enjoy the cheese.

  18. beetleNo Gravatar | 26 June 2009 at 13:11

Jay: I gave her a hug from you – and I really enjoyed the cottage cheese!

LaTonya: Ha ha! I’ve forgotten how many times tubs of food have been defrosted for dinner, that turned out to be fruit and vice versa!

Swubird: It has been a terrible time, but now we can breath a sigh of relief and start to live again :)

LadyBanana: You know, I didn’t think to try that mix. I bet it wouldn’t be bad!

Yes, it took a while for it to really hit home, that it was all OK – so far any way :)

Lauren: Oh I did enjoy it ;)

Ah, what great news!!! Congrats! But yuck for the cottage cheese. My mother loved it with fruit; but I prefer cream for sure!

That’s hilarious! Unfortunately, I can’t laugh too hard because I’ve done the exact same thing before too, and wifey has made sure to never let me forget it!

It is wonderful to read that Mo seems to be in the clear now – how cool is that? I hope you both get to enjoy each other’s quirks and foibles for years to come.

Babs, I’m about to take a tangent in these comments that I hope you’ll forgive. Thank you for the great reads these past few months. It’s nice to follow someone else for a change and not my own convoluted (and sometimes depressive) paths. Life is good.

  24. beetleNo Gravatar | 29 June 2009 at 18:55

Joanna: Yes, it is fantastic news :)

V-V: Yes, Mo does it with all sorts too. Still we get to try all kinds of foods we wouldn’t normally get ;)

Ruth: I’m sure Mo feels much better knowing she is not alone in this!

Maureen: I love cottage cheese, but I usually eat it straight from the tub. NOT with fruit!

Tony: I did get a good laugh, but sent her straight back out for some cream. We do have some real moments of hilarity – often :D
Thank you very much for the award! I really appreciate it!
