I truly love and care for birds. Having them has taught me how smart they are and that they indeed have a sense of reasoning and a sense of taste. We've had several nests in the garden this year and I'm quite used to the plaintive cheeping of babies being 'encouraged' to fly! Sometimes the mother is nowhere to be seen, but you can be sure they are around, watching. If the babe doesn't take off in a certain period of time, the parent birds will feed them where they are, but not much! it's the only way to get them going, I think. ;) Sweet little thing, isn't it? And great photo! Ooh, the bird feeder outside the window just gave a huge shudder and clang and there's the jackdaw, bouncing around on the fragile-looking hooky thing at the top! Now <i>there's</i> a black bird for ya! LOL! Oh, yes, it happens a lot. Our cats were safely locked in and we don't have many cats in this area. I think I'm happy that he is safe :) JD: I am sure too. In this case the bird was already too big for that. I don't know how he got in our garden because he couldn't fly. All the large trees are at the back.
