Why won’t they TALK to me?

posted by Babs on Tuesday, 15 September 2009

Mo is away in Devon this week. She goes every year for a holiday with her sister, and I hate it.  The house is so quiet.  I only have the cats to keep me company……

Resigned to the silence, I go back to my computer.

Aww… I’m sorry Babs ! I don’t like it either if bro is out for a days at stretch. Perhaps you should make a plan too this time of the year to go somewhere – ??

Hilarious!!! Oh, poor sleeping kittehs. Your doodles slay me. I’m with Jaffer. Schedule this time to go away yourself. Can I interest you in a jaunt across the pond? We’re only a six hour flight away! (I’d offer to meet you halfway, but that would put us in a position to drown.)

You always have Bejeweled, and I’ll be trying to catch your score all week. So there.

Jaffer: I could go with Mo if it wasn’t for the cats! Poor Livvie is so dependent on us now. She’s almost blind, she’s deaf and has medication every other day.

Kathy: Oh I can dream, but I’d need to win the lottery – oh wait! I don’t do the lottery! Well there’s nothing else for it. You’ll have to win the lottery and come here. OK you can pop to Paris at the same time ;)

I’m sorry that you are home alone. I hate it when hubby is away so I can relate. I’m hoping this week will go by quickly. Keep yourself busy.

    Have a great day. :)

I can very well relate too; I don’t quite like the feeling of solitary. But you do have us here … somehow. :)

I usually enjoy some solitude time. With 3 cats myself, that is more improbable than someone who does not have cats imagine! They only seem to want to be bothered with me at the most inopportune times.

Sandee: Well it’s Wednesday so the week is halfway gone. Before I know it it will be Sunday ;)

BK: Yes, blogging DOES help, and there Facebook too. At least I can chat online :)

Barb: Our cats are like children. Livvie is VERY vocal and needs a lot of attention. Sukie thinks I’m her mother and constantly wants to knead on me and bury her head under my arm when I’m trying to type! Still, it’s company ;)

I love solitude and silence and I’m usually lonely even when I have company, weird feeling.I understand your feelings though I remember the video you had of Mo and the exercise thing and she’s very entertaining so I’m sure you miss all the laughter. Just think all the stories she’ll have to entertain you with when she comes home.

Im sure they will be glad to keep you company.. sooner or later. Or when they get hungry and need you to feed them. I know that from experience. For a cat, mine is a real bitch.

  11. beetleNo Gravatar | 16 September 2009 at 19:09

Swubird: That is very true. My computer has lots of people living in it too ;)

Jude: Ha ha! You’re right. We are both a bit loony and have plenty to laugh at usually. That’s what I miss really – the laughter!

Buy Soma: You’re right there! At least, as the weather isn’t that good, they are not out all day!

Aw! Cats never do what you want them to, do they?

I think you should do a regular cartoon: maybe once a week? Your doodles are SO cute and clever. I wish I could doodle, but all I can draw is a sun and a peace sign.

Ooooooh! Just think of all the clotted cream she will bring back for you, and the pasties. I wish I had clotted cream to look forward to. Hopefully you are speaking to her every day by phone and keeping her updated on events. It will soon be Sunday little sister!

Sorry you’re lonely. But it’s only a week, right? Then Mo will be back and all will be right with the world! ;)

But, as i have not been here much this week your loniless must be almost over!!

By now you must be getting excited and your doodles are marvelous!!

I hope you two have a great weekend!!:-)

LadyBanana: That’s cats for you. Actually they’ve all been quite demanding of attention this week!

Jackie: Two months is a very long time! I lived alone once and hated it. Walter goes away for long periods doesn’t he?

  29. JenNo Gravatar | 20 September 2009 at 18:49

My cat won’t talk to me either. She ignores me completely unless her dish is empty or it 3am and she wants to go in or out. I sometimes hate my cat. The dog on the other hand won’t stop talking to me and he never leaves my side. If there is a thunderstorm I might as well carry him around or put him in the bathtub, which is difficult since he is at least 75 lbs.

    Your drawings are wonderful.
