Stage Two

On Tuesday Len and sandie came round and while Sandie drank coffee Len set to work. He cemented the hole and put the plasterboard up ready for us to get somebody in to patch the Artex.

In the evening Mo asked our neighbour, who is a builder, if he was interested in doing it for us. He popped in to have a look and said that we could do it ourselves as it was very easy to do. He gave us instructions on what to use and how. He said that he will come in and skim the wall with plaster in readiness for us, which was nice of him :O)

We decided that if it wasn’t too expensive, we would rather get a professional in. However, as money is tight we may have to attempt it ourselves. We have a chap coming to look at it tomorrw so we shall see.

Sindie I’m afraid that the edge you wanted to follow for the new fire surround won’t be there as I think that our neighbour is going to fill it all in using scrim. Never mind I’m good with a rule :O)

I have all the filling to do yet but don’t worry you will get photos of my handy-work :O)

Lets hope the estimate is not too expensive. But if it is, you have the talent to do it yourself I am sure:0)

Oooh it is all coming on nicely. Perhaps your neighbour was just trying to save you money and would do it if you said you cannot manage it. Would he be cheaper than some one else? Perhaps though the job was too small for him ah

As long as Mo knows how to use a saw, we’ll get that fireplace looking scrumptious!
