Crispy bacon and decorations

Whilst I’m searching for my ‘mojo’ I thought I’d tell you that my intention was to do a special Christmas post. I was going to play my guitar and Mo was going to sing.  We were going to video us performing Silent Night for you, though it could have ended up in laughter. Who knows?

Nobody knows, that’s who!

Because we didn’t do it!

That damn mojo went walk-a-bout on me and Christmas just hit us in the face all too suddenly.

So it is with some disappointment that I post this photo of our ceiling decorations.

OK, I know. It’s far from the same thing…..

Do not despair…..

All is not lost…..

I am also posting a photo of our extra turkey crown Mo has just cooked. This one is for slicing and freezing for the New Year. We always buy extra so we can eat cold meat and pickles after Christmas.

Turkey crown

Did the crispy bacon help make amends for the lack of a video?

I hope so.

Mo and I want to wish every single one of you, including the silent readers, a very Happy Christmas!

Note:  I think I may have found my mojo, hiding under the sofa with some cat toys. I just need to hook it out with a long implement!

  • RunAway ToHike

Those are definitely the best ceiling decorations…

    • Well, thank you. Mind you a carefully aimed camera can make them look better 😉

  • I know about those silent readers. I have so many I can hardly keeup with their comments…lol

  • Wish I were closer and we’d come over and share some good times.  I think we’d all get along very well.  Then there’s the turkey.  Yummy.

You and Mo have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

    Hugs and love,

    • And you’d be more than welcome. I’m sure we’d get along just great!

  • Cats are always the first ones to steal your mojo. Have a great Christmas, Babs!

    • You must have been commenting on my post as I was commenting on yours!
Cats are always the first to steal anything that moves 🙂

  • Merry Christmas, Babs and Mo!  I love the photos, but I would have loved to hear the rendition of “Silent Night” too.  Mo is one of my favorite singers, even better than Gaga!  (And she doesn’t need a costume to make her good!)

    • Now I feel bad, not much though hahaha! I will see what I can arrange in the new year. If I can tie us both down for a song, I will.

  • Merry Christmas Babs!  You can’t go wrong with bacon…EVER.  Oh, and I think I see your mojo peeking out.

    • We had a little taste of the turkey and it was delicious! Unfortunately the bacon was like concrete ha ha!

  • Merry Christmas Babs and Mo! Hope you have a wonderful holiday and that Santa brings you everything you want including a long implement 🙂

All the best to you both!

    • You too Nicky! I can’t wait for my pressie, but it’s more square and flat 😉

  • Ron

Babs, I LOVED this post, even though I didn’t get to hear Mo sing Silent Night!

Maybe you two could prepare a song for New Years Eve!

Fabulous shot of the decorations and the turkey crown! OMG…that turkey looks beyond yummy!

Soooo glad to hear you got your mojo back, girl! I knew you would! I’m so looking forward to catching up with you next week.

Wishing you and Mo the Merriest Christmas ever!

And please know what a JOY it’s been getting to know you this year!

    You’re a sweetheart!

    X to you and Mo!

    • I won’t make promises about a song, knowing how hard it is to get Mo in the mood to sing. Alternatively I could search out an old recording. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you too Ron 🙂

  • “Did the crispy bacon help make amends for the lack of a video?”

  • I tried to put bacon on a turkey once and it just burned up, what did I do wrong?

    • Well, this bacon was not edible! It was rock hard! We roasted out turkey in a clear bag – look 🙂

      • I like rock hard bacon jerkey, and I love turkey skin, if they would market turkey or chicken rinds I would be the first in line to buy them.

        • I forgot to post the picture of the turkey roasting.

          • I was beginning to think you were hitting the sauce, what time is it at your house?

          • It’s 8pm 🙂

        • Crispy bacon is one thing, but ROCK hard would break our teeth 🙂

  • Well, the bacon barely made it in place of the xmas song. I expect some art here by Valentine’s day, k? lol. Glad you found your mojo 🙂
    Merry christmas, ladies!

    • OK, I promise I will try and post something of Mo’s singing soon. Even if it’s an old one 🙂

  • So beautiful photo of the decoration! I like it very much!
Do you know that you are very brave to have extra pieces! I did not want to go inthe shop today because of too much traffic and bought something for me some days ago. I thought, it will be enough… Aaaaahhhhh…. Why I did not read your post some days ago….

Wishing you, Mo and all your readers happy, prosperous, healthy and first of all MARRY Christmas!

    • We hope you also have a lovely Christmas and hope your food lasts you until you can get to the shops 😉

  • Jay

Your turkey crown looks wonderful, but I love the photo of the ceiling decorations! Very artistic, and so pretty!

And luckily for me, the side panel writing and ads didn’t quite manage to cover the pictures, although I couldn’t read some of the words … yes, I’m afraid I still can’t read all of your blog.  There’s a whole chunk of text completely hidden under ‘Jules Verne’.  🙁

    • Hi Jay. The turkey was/is delicious! I hope you’re having a great Christmas 🙂
Now, all you need to do is update your browser and my blog will be fine. It doesn’t like the older browsers 😉

  • Hope you and Mo had a lovely Christmas 🙂

    • Oh, we did. I see that you are still not a grandmother! Maybe it’ll be a New Year baby 🙂
