Photo Blogging Challenge – Colourful

This month’s Photo Blogging Challenge is – Colourful

It looks like I’m a bit late this month. The time is flying past now.

I came across my fifth photo from last months ‘baseball’ challenge. I had forgotten I took it. But it fits in nicely with this months challenge. I give you a colourful, base ball!

colourful 1We stopped for a cool drink, while we were out in the heat a couple of weeks ago and I thought how colourful Mo was looking, as she sipped her orange drink.

colourful 2Worrying that I wouldn’t get time to go out on the lookout for colourful photos, I took this one. I love this colourful fruit. We’ve had it for many years and it’s as fresh as it was when we first bought it.

colourful 3I was coming down stairs and saw our neighbour’s garden through the window. I was struck by how colourful it was, so the next time I went out I grabbed a few shots with my iPhone. I must admit that the photos didn’t do it justice. I love yellow flowers!

colourful 4By now, I was getting a bit desperate, so I took a shot of one of my colourful paintings as a standby. I give you, my standby photo. A portion of one of my paintings.

colourful 5That’s my five for this month and if you want to see more colourful photos, click the image at the top of this post.

Bottom-Banner.jpgEdit, for those that asked. Here is the full painting.

  • Well this was a colorful post and then some. Love all that color.

Have a fabulous day Babs. Big hugs to you and Mo. πŸ™‚

  • Ron

FANTASTIC selection of photos for this theme, Babs!

Especially love the one of Mo!

And wow…that photo of the fruit is gorgeous, they look REAL.

Beautiful shot of the painting too!

Have a super weekend, my friend!

    X to you and Mo!

    • The fruit looks so real that someone’s daughter actually picked one up and bit into it. We have the teethmarks in it, to prove it.

  • GeoKs

Now you’ve teased us with that glimpse of your painting, I’d love to see a photo of the entire canvas. Any chance?

And that yard with all the flowers…absolutely magnificent. I can’t imagine the many hours that went into planting and continue to go into keeping it up.

    • I have added the full painting to the post now πŸ™‚

His garden is beautiful and a treat to see, every day.

      • GeoKs

Thanks for sharing the entire canvas. The highlights and shadows with deliberate textures really make it for me, but I also love the way the warm colours blend together and transition. You are a real talent!

  • That painting intrigues me – wish you had posted more of it!

    • I’ve included it in the post now, as an edit πŸ™‚

  • Lots of orange and yellow – my kind of colorful. And yes, let’s see the whole painting. And oh my gosh that fruit looks SO real.

    • Edit in the post, for the painting πŸ™‚ The fruit does look very real.

What a perfect set-up you have! You get to look out your window to see such beauty, but you don’t have to do a minute of work to keep the flower bed pretty!
The painting photo is my favorite, though. As the others have said…wish I could see the whole thing!

    • I wish the garden was ours, but that would be a lot of work, so having his to look at is probably even better. The full painting has been added to the post now πŸ™‚

  • ReformingGeek

Ah, fruit that has to be dusted. I get it. Hee Hee. Mo was indeed colorful. Your neighbor’s garden is beautiful!

    Nice job with the prompt!

  • Mike Davis

Colorful indeed! Lovely painting as well.

  • Though I love the shot of the colorful garden, my favorite is of Mo.

    • She was certainly very colourful that day πŸ™‚

  • I love that garden. For me that would be the typical English garden. I didn’t know you painted, Babs. That’s an amazing piece. I really like it.

    • Yes, I would say that was a typical English garden too πŸ™‚

I’ve dabbled with painting and drawing, on and off, all my life. It is such a messy hobby, that you need a dedicated room for it. The cats stole mine πŸ™‚

  • That painting is BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE IT! All of your pictures are awesome, as I knew they would be. Looks like they were planned and done throughout the entire month. And boy that fruit picture is crisp and clear and colorful… frameable for sure!

Now we gotta do “black and white.” That is going to be hard…. too bad we don’t have our dalmatian anymore!

    • It’s always easier to be colourful in the summer. Black & white, will be harder, but I don’t know if I’ll have time this month, what with our big day being in 3 weeks.
You had a dalmatian? Beautiful dogs πŸ™‚

  • Lisa

You did a fabulous job of finding color in your world! And you were’t as late as I was in posting this month!

  • I think the photo of the painting is very cool. I love images like that. Great job this month!
