When I was a child, my sisters and I were given pet names by mum.  My pet name was ‘Beetle’.  It seemed a nice touch, when I started blogging, to use Beetle as the name of my blog.  Mum would have smiled at that :O)

Things I love to do.

I love playing my guitar, writing songs and recording backing tracks, ready for Mo to sing over, when I can get her in the mood!   I have three guitars at the moment. A lovely red, solid bodied, electric guitar, an electric acoustic and a beautiful Yamaha ‘Silent guitar’, that splits in two for travelling.  I play in the group at church, and Mo sings.  Sadly, it’s the only time I get to play with other musicians now.  We left behind our musician friends, when moving to Yorkshire.

Over the years I’ve had many hobbies, but the main few have stayed with me.  I like painting, but do it in fits and starts.  Recently I’ve rekindled my love of photography, after many years of happy snapping.  I don’t know why I stopped serious photography, but I’m loving it again.  Check out my Photo Blog to see some of my latest photography.

I love animals and have three cats - Livvie - a Red Point Burmese, who is an old lady now, Mitzi - a tortoiseshell who we rescued, and Sukie - an all black beauty.  You can see them at my cat blog.

A new love.

I have never seen myself as a writer, but I wrote something a while back and was encouraged by people’s comments, to write more.  I stumbled into blogging, by chance, and found a brand new hobby.

Blogging has opened up a whole new world, full of wonderful people, and I have made some lovely on-line friends.
