Sepia Scenes – Vintage

sepiascenes

I loved the effect of this photo.  I used a Photoshop Action that Lee of Tarheel Ramblings guided me to.  There are two sets of actions at The Pioneer Woman’s briliiant photography blog, and they are totally free to download and use.  I used the ‘Vintage’ action here and was pleasantly surprised by it.  I like to play around and experiment myself, but sometimes it’s just nice to simplyfy the process.

Again, I’ve posted the original to show the full effect of the action.

For me both images have great merit.
I think your original was a perfect one to change.
The architecture reminds of our unused state prison here – very gothic looking.
I see water (I think) in the right hand corner. Is this part of a dam?

Much prefer the sepia. It definitely improves the color photo.

Great shot, Babs. Isn’t PW’s site awesome? She is a naturally talented photographer, and isn’t afraid to share her knowledge. In fact, she has a lot of giveaways to share the wealth of her site with visitors.

Carletta: It’s at the reservoir. This is a bridge that goes over it, and I think the little building is where the the reservoir keeper spends his time, doing whatever he needs to do :)

I love the effect you’ve used here. Both photographs are wonderful. I’ve been to the Pioneer Woman website, but haven’t really explored it. I’ll have to do that soon.

And I don’t like seppia. Not because it’sgood or bad but it remembers maybe a movie about the war. Something like this.
