Ruby Tuesday

posted by Babs on Tuesday, 5 August 2008

I decided to post this rose each week until it is in full bloom.  I wait expectantly every year for this.  We only ever get two, maybe three buds a year, and there is nothing like the first bloom!

Selective colour

posted by Babs on Monday, 28 July 2008

This first image was taken using yellow as a selective colour setting on my camera. The second image is just a general setting.

I can’t wait to get a new SLR camera. The resulting image is never as sharp as I see it in the viewing window of my camera.

Royal landscape gardens – updated

posted by Babs on Friday, 16 May 2008
These beautiful photos were taken by my sister-in-law, whilst visiting The Royal Landscape, an area covering over 1,000 acres in Windsor Great Park. It is made up of three key features – The Savill Garden, Valley Gardens and Virginia Water. These photos are from Valley Gardens and Savill Garden. The flowers are so colourful, and beautiful.

Click photos for more detail.

The Valley Gardens and Lake are part of the Park and are free to walk round – all the walks are really well signposted and there are miles of them. The Savill Garden costs £7 (£6.50 for seniors). If you are doing the Valley Gardens and various walks, the best place to park is at Savill Garden and walk from there. Parking is free for first 90 mins and then I think £1 an hour thereafter. You can then have a coffee and there is a loo and shop etc by the car park.

A Mother’s Rose

posted by Babs on Friday, 21 March 2008

This rose is from a bush bought in memory of my mother.  It has the strongest, most beautiful scent, that befits the lady that she was.
