Snowfall – Diptych

posted by Babs on Wednesday, 18 February 2009

I just learned what Diptych means after reading a post by The Pioneer Woman who said that a diptych refers to two images (paintings, tablets) that sit side-by-side and go together very nicely.

She suggested that we might like to post our own diptych, so here’s mine.  These were taken when we got our lovely snowfall..

Sepia Scenes – Oak Tree

posted by Babs on Wednesday, 24 December 2008

sepiascenes

I got to post a Sepia Scenes photo today.  It isn’t the one I intended posting because the one I had in mind isn’t quite ready.  I’ll post that one next week.

I’m afraid I can’t say how I achieved this one because I did it a couple of weeks ago and I can’t remember now.  I posted the original shot also.  It was taken this summer while tucking into a lovely picnic.  I couldn’t resist taking a photo of such a beautiful oak tree.

SkyWatch Friday + I got an Award!

posted by Babs on Friday, 5 December 2008

Lately I have been posting photos that I took on a walk we took a few weeks ago.  These photos were also taken on that walk.  I took about 150 photos that day, so there are plenty more left.

I loved these very tall trees.  They looked beautiful against the blue sky.

Sepia Scenes

posted by Babs on Wednesday, 22 October 2008

This is my contribution to the new photographic theme ‘Sepia Scenes’ I took this in the summer and used it for a SkyWatch photo.  I tried to make it look a bit old too.

SkyWatch Friday

posted by Babs on Thursday, 9 October 2008

This is a shot I took on the same walk as my previous post.  There was a beautiful ray of light shining down through the trees, but my camera didn’t capture it.

Because I am still a big kid at heart, I couldn’t resist collecting a few of the conkers.  Just for photographing you understand ;O)

PhotoHunters 128 – Road

posted by Babs on Saturday, 20 September 2008

This photo was taken two years ago, when we last had enough snow to go out taking photos.  I must admit to loving snow, but we haven’t had much in recent years.  I thought this road was an absolute picture, and took several photos of it.  I just loved the sun shining through the trees, and the clear blue sky.

Sky Watch Friday

posted by Babs on Thursday, 7 August 2008
I got Mo to stop the car when I saw this dead tree on route for a day out.  It looked so dramatic against the blue sky.  The wisps of white clouds added to it.

Sky Watch Friday & Doodle Evil

posted by Babs on Friday, 18 July 2008
Today I am posting pictures I took of a couple of trees against the sky. I loved the bark on this tree.

As usual, if you click on the photos you get a more detailed shot.

I loved this tree because, although it had no branches, it was covered in leaves.

The same tree taken from below.
